About

Slope protection net, also known as SNS slope protection net, flexible slope protection net or steel wire rope protection net, is protective equipment used in highway and railway landslides. There are two types of protection: active protection and passive protection. It is mainly divided into two types: active slope protection net and passive slope protection net, in addition to circular protection net.

Active protective net is a type of flexible net mainly composed of steel wire rope net, which covers and wraps around the required protective slope or rock, and can minimize the impact of the project on the environment. Its protective area can fully protect the stability of soil and rock, facilitate artificial greening, and benefit environmental protection. The active protective net restricts the weathering, peeling or damage of slope rock and soil, as well as the collapse of dangerous rocks, or controls the movement of falling rocks within a certain range. The active net is suitable for the anti weathering and anti collapse treatment of relatively stable large rock mass slopes.

Passive protective net is composed of four main parts: wire rope net, circular net, fixed system pressure relief ring, and steel column. The combination of steel columns and steel wire rope mesh forms a whole, providing surface protection for the protected area, thereby preventing the collapse of rock and soil, and playing a role in slope protection. Passive protective nets are suitable for slope protection of small and fragmented rock masses, and their position, height, and kinetic energy should be designed and calculated based on the trajectory of rockfall bouncing. The trajectory can be theoretically calculated based on kinematics, and on-site rockfall pit investigations and tests are often used in engineering to determine its position.
